Awnings

An awning or overhang is a secondary covering attached to the exterior wall of a building. The location of an awning may be above a window, a door, or above the area along a sidewalk. With the addition of columns an awning becomes a canopy, which is able to extend further from a building, ideal for an entrance to a hotel. Restaurants may also benefit from using awnings broad enough to cover substantial outdoor area for outdoor dining, parties, or reception.

Channel Lettering

Channel letters are custom-made metal or plastic letters that are commonly used on the buildings of business, churches, and other organizations for exterior signage. A standard channel letter is a three dimensional graphic sign element. Its channel is fabricated from sheet metal, most often aluminum since it will not rust. A flat sheet of aluminum is typically cut on a table by a computer-controlled router. This creates the back of the channel and is the basis for the letter shape. The sides of the channel letter, called the returns, are then formed by bending a 3 to 6-inch-wide (150 mm) strip of aluminum sheet around the aluminum back. This return can be welded at the seam or flanged and riveted to the back to create a solid can in the shape of the letter. The letter can is painted and fitted with any lighting components necessary such as neon gas tubes or light-emitting diode (LED) modules. A translucent plastic face usually of 3/16″ thick sheet acrylic fiber or polycarbonate is cut to fit the open face of the letter can. A trim cap border is applied to its edges which gives the letter face a finished appearance and creates a fastening surface to attach it to the letter can. When illuminated at night, channel letters draw the eye of passers-by.

Lightboxes

Lightboxes also known as backlit displays add strength to your message, and come in a wide range of colors and thicknesses frames. They are great for indoor and outdoor retail stores, shopping centers, museums, trade booths, hospitals and airports. These lighted display panels are used for advertising purposes, especially for retailers. The panel can be illuminated by fluorescent light bulbs or LED lighting strips. Energy efficiency is improved with LED technology. The lighting source can be placed at the back or side of the panel and the user can insert a graphic, which can be changed easily. Outdoor lightboxes are also waterproof.
